Dwarves, or Homo sapiens fortem, are a sapient humanoid race on the planet Earth. Though several primarily dwarven nations (such as Kanrhia) exist, dwarves are found throughout the modern world in a variety of roles and locations.

Wizards have been believed to have existed throughout all of Dwarf history, with much of their society and culture focused around the magical arts and creating technology and magically-imbued weapons and tools.

Modern Day[]

Many dwarves in the modern age have become highly successful entrepreneurs and businessmen, most often excelling in the sciences and engineering fields. An example of this is a highly acclaimed Dwarven author by the name of Boggik Caskfury, who wrote the extremely popular textbook Modern Materials Engineering, used in many schools by Humans and Dwarves alike.

Dwarven attitudes towards technological progress, scientific research and sustainable living have been a major driving force in the development of the modern world as a whole.

The majority of living dwarves are magically capable, far more than any other humanoid race, though non-magical (or Type-I) dwarves do exist as a significant minority. There are no known instances of Type-III dwarves.

Dwarves typically range from 1 to 1.6 meters in height, with a stocky, wide-shouldered build and a level of upper body strength comparable to other humanoids despite their smaller size. A dwarf is usually able to lift their own weight and climb with relative ease. Though they cannot run as quickly as other humanoids, dwarves do possess greater endurance when it comes to operating in environments with limited oxygen, due in no small part to their preference for underground living.

Dwarves of both genders possess facial hair, though females outside of traditional dwarven societies will usually shave theirs. Unlike humans, dwarves cannot breed year-round and typically have a much lower birth rate.

 Legal Status[]

Discrimination against Dwarves is illegal in the United States.

The UN Declaration of Universal Humanoid Rights explicitly outlines rights that must be guaranteed to all humanoid beings regardless of their origin, social status or creed. However this declaration is not enforced nor is it respected by all of the UN's member states, resulting in some countries whose human leaderships are notorious for suppressing even their own human populations, let alone Dwarves.
